North Carolina: Millie Holloman One-2-One

 Matt writes: ”Well you know there was this girl that loves taking pictures! And this girl loves looking at other photography blogs for inspiration………………she soon fell in love with the style of one extraordinary photographers eye! She wanted so badly to have eyes like those to look through her camera lens.  She never thought she would get the chance to have eyes like these, until one day she arrived in Wilmington, North Carolina.  She knew after months of knowing about a trip that it was going to be great but just how great! She jumped up and down and up and down again once she figured it out! That’s right, she knew right away that she was going to have a One-2-One Session with Ms. Millie Holloman.

On Thursday, September 25th we headed to Millie Holloman Studios in Wilmington, NC to meet Millie and some of her staff. I was so nervous and so excited at the same time.  When we arrived and met Millie I realized that we immediately clicked.  My husband and I had a blast talking about photography and learning awesome tips about shooting techniques, lighting, photoshop and shooting in RAW! Yes can you believe it, we SHOOT IN RAW format now! It is so great, we will never go back! My husband loves the new editing process Millie helped him adapt.  Anyway, after lunch and all the small talk we headed downtown in the middle of a tropical disturbance for a photoshoot to put the knowledge we learned to the test! The results are below. And yes! We got wet from head to toe!  And Yes we took these pictures, Matt and I!  Hope you enjoy the images.  It was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could not have chose a better person to have a workshop with than Millie!  And Brent & Amanda were awesome too, not to mention they were great models and good sports to get drenched just so that we could have awesome shots to show everyone!!!!!!!!!

A Baby Story………

Well today was a BIG DAY for the Andries and Richardson families……………..as they patiently awaited the arrival of their bundle of joy Ms. Olivia Paige Andries at Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Lafayette, LA.  After a day of happiness and pains Ms. Olivia was born on October 14th at 06:58 p.m. weighing 7lbs 3oz and 20.5 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful and looks alot like her daddy, proud papa Jake.  I had a blast capturing this life changing event for the Andries family and wish them all the best!  P.S. they are a super fun couple that my husband and I greatly enjoy and love! We hope our daughters can grow up being playmates! Thanks for this opportunity Marti and Jake!

The Johnson Girls

Oh la la the beatiful Johnson girls!!!!  We had a wonderful morning with these two beauties, Hailey and her big sis, Lauren were full of energy and smiles ready to twirl their way into your hearts!! Mom and grandmaw worked really hard at getting the girls to smile and laugh; as you can see they did a great job. For thier photoshoot today we decided to use the ULL Alumni House and the art museum across the street.  Thanks Johnson family for a fun and laughter filled morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Champagne Family

Alex is back again! This time with some friends; Mommy & Daddy for a fun family photoshoot in Giraurd Park. It was a beautiful day, wonderful temperture and Alex was in the absolute best mood! I think his mommy and daddy had fun, too! We took some awesome shots of them feeding the ducks, playing around and just loving the beautiful day! As you will see Alex is now on the move compared to his last photoshoot and he is all BOY!! I had a wonderful time today with the Champagne Family; I hope it shows in these beautiful images.

Grant Senior Session: Senior Rep

Today we had our first Senior Session of the year.  Grant Landry is going to be a Senior Representative for Stacy Landry Photography…….he is a Senior at Breaux Bridge High School, where he is on the bowling team.  He also is a Junior Volunteer Firefighter for the Parks Volunteer Fire Department.  The PVFD was generous enough to let us have some fun with our photoshoot!!!! The pics came out AWESOME! He was full of personality and energy.  He is a very skilled model! We had lots of FUN!!!!!!!

Addison Claire is 6 months………..

 Oooh so cute is little miss Addison. Today was another beautiful day and Addison was in the greatest mood especially for not having much of a nap as mommie reported. She was the happiest baby smiling and laughing. Addison has the prettiest blue eyes and an infectious laugh. She made our day!!! Her grandmother, aunt and cousin were all great helpers in capturing Addison’s true personality, thanks. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

Andries Maternity Session

WELL, here they are the grealy anticipated maternity pics for Miss Olivia Paige’s Mommie. Marti and Jake were good sports and willing to try what ever we suggested. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shinning, there was a nice breeze, and we had such a wonderful day. It’s a good thing we went ahead and took the pic’s because Marti is now on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy!! Yuck!! Don’t worry she’s fine just safety precautions and she’s not at all sad about having to stop working until baby is born! Good luck to Marti and Jake, Olivia is one lucky baby girl!!!!

I finally talked daddy into getting Emerson her first haircut at 18 months old, yeah for me!!!  She was sooooooo good and didn’t even cry; what a big girl she is becoming! Megan at the COLOR BAR cut and styled her precious new hair-do. She actually sat still for Megan to flat iron her hair, cher!!!!!!!!!!

downtown willimington~NC

The pier was great , and has lots of photo opportunities as you will soon see! The weather was cold compared to La. ( but there was a storm on the way). The downtown area has a new orleans appeal to it, felt a little like home . Not to mention the news people interviewed us on the beach because we were the only people on the beach (except for some surfers), I mean come on people, it is not even a tropical storm! Who is scared of that! LOL! Lots of shops and great food!!!  Hope you enjoy the pics.
